Volunteer Coordinator
Anyone interested in more details regarding the KHASA Volunteer Coordinator position, please contact khasa63@gmail.com. Thanks!
Callback volunteers
The purpose of the Safe Arrival Program is to assure parents that their children arrive safely at school. Volunteering means once a month for 30-40 minutes: the parent volunteer checks the phone/email messages each morning and compares the message with the
morning attendance. Any discrepancies are followed up on immediately.
CROSSING GUARDS; Grade 4 & 5 Students & Parents
Crossing Guard is lacking a Tuesday afternoon shift and needs extra guards for Thursday and Friday morning.
Still needed are more parents to step up, especially for Monday p.m., Tuesday p.m. (if we manage to get a shift going for that day),
Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. The program is only going to be truly effective if our shifts are full so people need to get involved!
Forms are available outside the school office. Thank you. Gillian England gmengland@shaw.ca

KHASA EXECUTIVES AND COMMITTEE HEADS NEEDED
HEADS-UP: In May 2012, 4 of the executive positions will be vacant as the 2-year maximum will have been reached for filling a particular position, so new volunteers will be needed to step up!
If we do not fill the main positions, our parent organization could be shut down and all the money we have raised together will be taken over by the government. The children of Keating really appreciate the parent group and the support we give them. The money that goes towards field trips and for library books is what usually comes to mind, but the kids also wrote some very nice cards thanking us for supporting their drive to raise money for Cops for Cancer.
Other committee positions will also be available, as current members have children moving on to Bayside.
We welcome questions at any time: please email us or catch one of us on the playground or in the school, or plan to attend KHASA meetings to see what it's all about. We’d be happy to share our great experiences with you!
If you are interested in any of the positions on the executive please email khasa63@gmail.com. In the spring, there will be nomination forms available at the office, or from a KHASA executive.
If you have ever planned to be involved in the nitty-gritty workings of Keating, here is your chance!
Fundraising Co-Chair: KHASA hosts several annual fundraisers each year such as Entertainment books, Keating clothing, Christmas poinsettias, Mother’s Day flower baskets, Fall bulbs & Father’s Day coffee. This is an Executive position and requires attendance of monthly Executive and General Meetings of KHASA. This position can be shared by two people.
The fundraising chairperson’s job is to coordinate all aspects of the fundraisers including: communication with distributors, distribution and collection of order forms to Keating families (traditionally via teachers/classrooms) and distribution of sale items. The fundraising chairperson is not limited to the fundraisers mentioned. This position will be shared with Liza Glynn. One of the past co-chairs of the position will be available for support, training and on-going advice throughout the year. Also, a binder of information will be provided for reference.
2011-2012 KHASA COMMITTEE POSITIONS AVAILABLE
